Intern Foundry Application: Spring 2025

Intern Foundry (IF) is a 15-week program that connects students to a diverse set of purpose-driven organizations according to their interests. The internship occurs over the Spring 2025 semester (January 21 - May 9), with one week off for spring break (March 16-22). Interns work approximately 8 hours per week at a rate of $15 per hour, for a total of 120 hours. Interns will have opportunities to meet local purpose-driven leaders and learn about their experiences and organizations in order to gain a better sense of professional identity.

Prior to the internship start date, all interns will participate in one in-person training session in January, focused on project management and led by community leaders. This training is a paid experience, and will take place January 8-10, January 13-15, and January 15-17. In-person attendance at ONE of these three trainings is required for the program.

Interns will also enroll in a special Intern Foundry section of UHON 99H, which will including in-person meetings on select Fridays from 2:30-4:30 pm.

Broad Program Goals:
ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY: Increase capacity and infrastructure support for nonprofit, public sector, and purpose-driven organizations serving Lincoln, Nebraska and elsewhere.
STUDENT LEARNING: Introduce interested students to the value of nonprofit, public sector, and purpose-driven business work in Lincoln, Nebraska and elsewhere through vetted quality individual and teamwork-based projects and experiences.
SYSTEMS APPROACH: Collaboratively build a strong system to effectively connect and support the partnership between nonprofit and purpose-driven industries and students.
