At this Cooper Conversation, entitled "Welcoming Lincoln: Embracing Immigrants and Refugees," we will explore how cities develop and implement strategies related to welcoming immigrants and refugees. Using Lincoln as an example, we will discuss efforts such as the New Americans Task Force and the Welcoming & Belonging Strategic Plan.
The topic ties to this year’s E. N. Thompson Forum on World Issues theme, "Uprooted: Displacement, Migration and Searching for Home," and the UHON 189H seminar "The Great American City: From Injustice to Inclusion" taught by Jacob Schlange. The event also falls during Welcoming Week!
