Identify sustainable solutions for our future
A Message From Our Faculty
More on the Environmental Stewards Track
The Nebraska Honors Environmental Stewards track builds student competency in environmental stewardship through intentional engagement and exposure to the rich intersections between the social and natural worlds. Honors Environmental Stewards will be recognized by their commitment to improving the natural environment and understanding the complex relationships involved with environmental sustainability. Sophomores in the University Honors Program are selected in a competitive merit-based process and will learn together through their junior and senior years. The program includes intensive coursework, community engagement training, and mentorship. These processes will help to prepare Environmental Stewards for a life dedicated to building and maintaining environmentally-focused sustainability practices through service, education and community engagement through exploration of topics including access to water, waste management and recycling, and public and environmental health.
