See the Honors Program website or the UNL website for the UNL calendar. -- New Announcements: Textbook return information: Students who joined the Honors Program in Fall, 2006 and later who benefit from the $250 a semester textbook scholarship may sell their books back to the University Bookstore at any time. Please mention that you are a "new" HP student at the buy-back counter. Students who were admitted to the Honors Program prior to Fall 2006 whose scholarship terms require that they return their textbooks may do so beginning on MONDAY, DECEMBER 17. Returns cannot be processed before that date. Attention all Honors students registered for Sociology 101, spring 2008: Dr. Wortmann will offer an Honors section of Sociology 101. Please register for Section 800 of that course, listed as ARR. It will meet MW at 10:30, and the recitation time will then be arranged. All students in Section 800 will contract the course, as it's not labeled 101H. If you are unable to attend the MW 10:30 lecture, you may attend the MW 9:30 lecture but enroll in Section 800 and attend the Honors recitation section. Mortar Board is a national honor society that recognizes college seniors for distinguished ability and achievement in scholarship, leadership, and service. We are currently seeking a new class of incoming senior leaders to carry on our traditions. Applications for membership and notables can be found at www.unl.edu/mb and are due January 25, 2008. -- Reminders UCARE: A reminder that UCARE applications are due February 15. Start thinking about a potential faculty contact and project now. We'll remind you again at the start of next semester. Honors Program Computer Lab: The lab is used extensively at this time of year. Please be particularly careful to observe a few courtesies: -the 24-hour quiet hour rule is in effect. -paper and toner usage are particularly heavy, so please print only when necessary. -consider recycling paper for drafts of papers. -please inform the Honors office when paper or toner is low.
