Duke University has done the pioneering work in this area, and they found that women felt compelled to be slender, dress stylishly, be socially skilled, get top grades--in a nutshell, be perfect in every way, yet look as though they hadn't worked hard or put any effort into achieving their perfection. The purpose of the group is to encourage participants to recognize the stress created by striving for EP, to look at the climate that supports EP as a goal for all women, and to suggest a new framework for achieving excellence and happiness rather than the unreachable ideal. The group will run from 5-6:30 on Wednesday evenings, indefinitely. Different themes revolving around perfectionism will be introduced each week. Women are free to come once, or to come every time. -- Reminders: Study Abroad Fair: Interested in learning about a fun and exciting way to earn credits outside of the United States?
