In view of the potential for the Asian Flu (H5N1) to become another pandemic of a magnitude not unlike the H1N1 Flu (Spanish Flu) of 1918 that killed in excess of 40,000,000 people, the class will follow closely the biology, epidemiology, and public health response to the current H5N1 virus. Additionally, the class will seek to identify factors requisite for etiologic agents to be components of bioterrorism. Interactive case studies will provide class participants opportunity to exercise their knowledge to propose hypothetical disease/epidemic/pandemic/bioterrorism events for class members to "solve". -- "Ferris Bueller's Fall Break: Honors Trip to Chicago" For those of you who have not heard about this yet, you're in for a treat.
