Information shared by UNL Bookstore: On your October consolidated bill you may have an item under the heading of “Textbook Retention Honors Program.” As you know, you have the option to return textbooks or keep them and pay the “buyback” price. This price is not the original retail cost of the item but the residual buyback value. Textbook retention charges reflect the cost of the books which had buyback value and which you did not return to the University Bookstore by the date set by the Honors Program and the University Bookstore. This billing does not include textbooks that were required for a continuation course (i.e. German 102 following German101). You are being billed for: Any textbook charges from the Spring semester for books not presented for buyback by the deadline date. Textbooks from summer sessions for the amount you received at book buyback, or for the value of the books if you did not present them for buyback. The amount on your statement is a total of the cost of spring and summer unreturned books. If you have questions about a specific book or you need detail information of the amount please contact our textbook office at 472-4663 or 472-7313.
