Stop by the main HP office to see the poster of graduates. -- Students benefiting from the Honors Program Book Scholarship are reminded that they must return their books to the City Union University Bookstore to credit their accounts by Friday, May 7 at 6:00 pm. Students returning books after the 6 p.m. May 7 deadline will be given cash and their student account will be billed for the amount of the buy-back value. For further information or clarification, please contact Mr. Dan Smith, Textbook Manager, at the University Bookstore. -- If you’ve not completed your Statement of Academic Interest or your Memorandum of Study, do so immediately. -- If you’re graduating in May and haven’t yet submitted your thesis completion form and thesis, please do so as soon as possible. -- One note about a frequently asked question: any Honors hours completed during a summer session apply to the current academic year, as the AY runs from August to August. -- Dr. Robert Milliken is offering a summer reading course on the Honors level: English 211A, Plains Literature. This class will fulfill 3 Honors hours for the current academic year. The initial meeting is Wed. April 21 from 5:00-6:00 pm in Andrews 121. You may also contact Dr. Milliken at rmilliken1@unl.edu. -- Summer financial aid: if you intend to use your textbook, Regents or other scholarship for summer study, you must apply for summer financial aid in order to do so. Use the Scholarships and Financial Aid website, and go to Summer Financial Aid. You should do this before you register for summer classes. Direct any questions to that office. -- Worried about your thesis? Take UHON 198H with Dr. Partridge in the fall. This class will assist you in identifying a thesis advisor, finding a topic, and pursuing the research. Contact Dr. Partridge for more information. -- Applications for Cather Circle Available Now Cather Circle is a mentoring and networking program for women. Students and successful NU alumnae meet twice a year on campus for two days of workshops, discussions and individual mentoring. Participants have opportunities to develop professional connections and personal friendships with women from all walks of life.
