Jan. 30: Last day to drop a class and receive 50 % refund Fri. Jan. 30: Degree application deadline for May graduation ($25.00 fee) Fri. Feb. 6: Last day to drop a class and receive 25 % refund Wed.., Feb. 11: Tuition and fee payment deadline Fri. Mar. 5: Last day to change a class to/from P/N Fri. Mar. 5: Last day to file a contract Mon. Mar. 8: Summer registration begins Mar. 13-21: Spring break Mar. 29-Apr. 14: Priority registration for Fall 2004 Fri. Apr. 9: Last day to withdraw from a class Fri. Apr. 16: Last day to change the status of a contract (see item below) -- Important notice: a change in policy with respect to contracts. Each semester, a few people, in agreement with faculty members, decide not to complete the contract portion of a class. As always, the faculty member is the person to decide how to proceed in this instance. However, we will no longer allow this change to occur after the Friday which falls two weeks before the end of classes. After that time, the Honors designation will stand and the grade in the Honors class will be affected. Of course, the faculty member always has the option to give an Incomplete. -- Hosts still needed: Honors Overnight 2004: Feb. 5-6 Would you be interested in sharing your time and experience with a prospective honors student from 7:30 Thursday evening until 11:30 Friday morning?. You will pick your student up in Neihardt, participate in activities in the evening, and take your guest to class with you on Friday morning. If you would like to do so, contact Joan Kunzman (mkunzman2@unl.edu) in the Office of Admissions. Please include your name, address, e-mail, phone number(s) and major. -- Ireland: Her People and Her Culture: there's still room in this trip, which will leave in mid-late June and spend 2 weeks touring Ireland. 3 hours HP credit available. See Dr. Lyons for details and brochures. Deadline to enroll for the trip is February 16. -- UHON 395H Introduction to Coastal Marine Studies also has room. This is a 3 week stay in Maine from the middle of June through July 4th weekend at the College of the Atlantic, studying the intertidal zone. See Dr. Lyons for details. This class has been opened up to the campus, so if you're interested, contact Dr. Lyons immediately. -- The National Collegiate Honors Council is sponsoring an Honors "Semester" in London from May 17-June 18, 2004. 8 hours of Honors credit available, to be spread among at least 2 fields. Applications are due by March 1. See Dr. Lyons for more information. -- Information on pre-professional visits for the College of Arts and Sciences is now available in the Reading/Resource Room. -- If you're interested in a scholarship or fellowship from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, check the following website: http://www.orau.gov/dhsed/ -- The Chancellor's Commissions on the Status of Women and on the Status of GLBT are looking for nominations for outstanding contributions to women and to the GLBT community.
