It will involve finding a thesis mentor/advisor, outlining the project, and starting the thesis. Meeting time: Thursdays, 4:00-5:00. The deadline to commit to the course, which is offered in June, is December 15. Offered on the coast of Maine, the class is a field research experience set in one of the most beautiful areas of the U.S. Prior biology experience is not necessary. Thompson Forum: Amos Oz is Israel's foremost author and the founder of Israel's Peace Now movement. Students are encouraged to read the materials posted on the UNL website and participate in the informal student discussion scheduled for Monday, Nov. 17 beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the NE Union. The informal discussion will be facilitated by students currently enrolled in Dr. Patrice McMahon's global issues class (160H). Food will be provided by Subway, beverages provided through the Pepsi Student Experience Fund. The forum itself is at 3:30 Tuesday, November 18 in the Lied Center. -- The UCARE Fall Symposium for Undergraduate Research will be held on Wednesday, November 19 from 3:00-6:30 pm. in the City Campus Union. Both presentations and poster displays will showcase the research efforts and creative activities of some of UNL's undergraduates in Agricultural Leadership, Agronomy and Horticulture, Animal Science, Architecture, Art and Art History, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Family and Consumer Science, Geosciences, Interior Design, Mathematics, Modern Languages, Nutritional Science and Dietetics, Physics and Astronomy, Psychology, School of Natural Resource Sciences, and Textiles Clothing and Design.
